When the rollers arrived, I couldn't wait to try them out. I quickly opened the package, rolled out a slab of clay, and tested each one. The rollers are sharp enough to leave a clear imprint on the clay without being sharp enough to cut you. I'm really eager to see how the pieces turn out once they're fired with glaze. I would definitely buy this set again in a heartbeat.
These are amazing....so fun with clay
These wooden rollers are of really nice quality. The patterns on them are quite pretty and they work wonderfully. My kids have been using them with playdoh, and we've all been thrilled with the fun designs each roller creates. They're small, but that's actually perfect for my kids' hands. I'm even thinking about trying them out on cookie dough because I bet they'd make some pretty cookies. Overall, very happy with this purchase.
I tried out 3 of the 5 wooden rolls today. The designs are really beautiful! The impression of the design in the high fire clay was really good. The quality of the wooden rollers are excellent! I thought the wooden rollers would be too short / not wide enough to use. The size actually works remarkably well.

When I first got my hands on this, I could only say, Wow, this is luxurious! I love the rich walnut color and the slightly glossy finish. It was pretty easy to assemble, and when I started using it, I found it to be very sturdy. The rotation is smooth, and it even has a handy spot for storing my stitching needles. Overall, it's definitely worth the price and the wait.
My wife surprised me with this as a birthday present, and considering it's from China, it's surprisingly well-made. I didn't have high expectations initially. I've been searching for a good way to skive chrome-tanned leather for sewing preparation for quite some time.
I was almost set on purchasing the Schärffix skiver or even considering a bell skiver. I already own an old cast iron hand-crank gear-driven American skiver that works exceptionally well with vegetable-tanned leather. It's great for thicker leather but not ideal for chrome-tanned leather since it wasn't designed with that in mind. I have a variety of hand skiving tools including round knives, head knives, dexter knives, Tandy skivers, and various handmade tools for paring/skiving. However, this YaeTek Manual Leather Skiver seems to be the best fit for my current needs. While a bell skiver would be ideal for full-time skiving of chrome-tanned leather, this tool meets my needs perfectly. It's a step up from hand skiving tools but not as productive as a bell skiver.
My initial impression was not great - the parts seemed loose and sloppy. I had to tighten the turnbuckles, adjust the slop, and lock down the lock nuts. After adding a drop of sewing oil to the threads and pivot points, and a dab of grease to the cam lever, everything operates smoothly with minimal backlash. It was refreshing to only need to make a few adjustments, unlike many Chinese tools I've dealt with in the past. The machining on the blade holder could be better, and the included blades are terrible.
Adjustment is quick, and with some common sense, you can achieve repeatable results. I haven't experienced the deflection mentioned by Jeff Peachey with the Schärffix-style paring/skiving machine, but it's possible it may become an issue with long-term use. So far, I've dulled half a dozen double-sided blades, but the skiver is still working well.
The 18 blades included with this skiver were junk, but Schärffix blades fit and hold a good edge. Standard double-edged razor blades also fit and are a good option. I recommend buying a sample pack from Amazon to try different manufacturers before purchasing a box of 100.
Overall, the YaeTek Manual Leather Skiver works well on soft leather and thin veg-tan, but heavy veg-tanned leather will likely damage the tool quickly. For heavy veg-tanned leather, a sturdier machine like the Landis or American type skiver is recommended.
It's a great tool, and I would have purchased it myself if my wife hadn't gotten it for me first.
I find it really smooth and effective when skiving hard leather with this tool, but it can be a bit tricky with soft leather as it tends to deform sometimes. It requires some skill and practice. Overall, the product offers great value for the money and is quite suitable for beginners.

They work well for drawing fine lines and filling large areas. The dark colors come out vibrant and smooth. They're easy to use, and safe for kids. Overall, they’re a decent option for ceramic projects.
After adding water, the lines come out clear, and it flows well without clumping up. The colors are vibrant and perform nicely, which makes it a great bang for your buck. The only downside is that the color labels are in a language I can't read, but aside from that, it's spot on.
I recently picked up the 12-color Underglaze Set, and overall, I'm pretty happy with it. It's a great basic set for anyone getting into watercolor or DIY glazing. The colors are simple and essential, which is perfect for beginners. After applying a clear glaze and firing it, I was really pleased to see that the colors still looked vibrant, which is awesome.
Just a heads-up though, make sure to shake the bottles well before you use them to get the consistency and color right. While I’m happy with the colors provided, it would be nice to have a few more options to play with. But yeah, all in all, I'm quite satisfied with this set—it’s a solid choice, just remember to shake well before using!
